About the teachers

Mrs. LiuDirector

Mrs. Liu holds Bachelor and Master degrees of Music (Piano Performance and Music Education) from National Taiwan Normal University, is a Ph.D. candidate in music (Music Education) at University of Florida, and has studied at the Juilliard School of Music with Robert Abramson of Dalcroze Institute.

She was a recipient of the University Award of Distinguished Student presented by National Taiwan Normal University, and received several music scholarships from Department of Education of Taiwan, YAMAHA Music Scholarship Foundation, KAWAI Music Scholarship Foundation, and Lily Chu Music Memorial Scholarship Foundation.

She was a certified faculty of the Department of Music at National Tai-Chung Teachers College in Taiwan, and taught in many Gifted Music Classes affiliated to regular school system. Her twenty-six years teaching experience ranges from beginners to advanced students of all ages in Piano and Music Program.

Her students participate different activities among several organizations in NJ, including the Winner Recitals at Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center in NYC, and Kimmel Center in Philadelphia. In 2006, she received the Distinguished Pedagogy Award for Outstanding Teaching from Cecilian Music Club.

Besides teaching adults and children in group and privately at her independent music studio, she is licensed Kindermusik International educator, certified Music For Young Children instructor, and active member of MTNA, NJMTA, Shore Music Educators Association, Cecilian Music Club, and ECMMA.

Mrs. Liu has been an adjudicator at piano events for many professional music organizations including SMEA and MEANJ.
