Research-based and age-appropriate Piano beginning method along with theory, solfege, listening, eurhythmy, improvisation, ensemble, and composition, MYC classes provide opportunities for beginners in small group setting to learn how to play Piano, to develop music competency with musicianship, and to compose their own music. Studio will provide classroom keyboards for students, but all students need to have their own piano or keyboard at home for practicing. All students are encouraged to participate in MYC International Composition Festival and School Recital.
Sunshine 1 class involves a variety of activities designed to suit the fine motor skills of preschoolers and capture their attention. This level is rich in singing, hands on activities, games, and stories about different "critters" used to help the children learn their notes as the students are introduced to keyboard geography.
During the year, we cover the keyboard geography from A-G and introduce notes on the Treble Clef Middle C to E as well as Bass Clef A to Middle C. Students also identify patterns, incorporate solfege, reinforce songs through singing and rhythm dictations and ensemble.
Parental involvement is a
vital part of the learning dynamic which allows students to experience
maximum success and to see their parents actively involved both in
class and at home.
We introduce the serious concepts with lots of fun activities. An outstanding program for very young beginner!
